Elmira Found Typography
Even in little ol’ Elmira, there is some great little spots for found typography. I’ve driven past this one enough times to remember to bring my camera. This would be a lovely piece to revive. Check out the whole set.

Christoph Niemann: I LEGO NY
Christoph Niemann is a brilliant illustrator. His work is always so clever that it often sparks jealousy among creatives alike. This work especially reminds me of the beauty of a child’s mind and the ability to see beyond the limits of wordly relationships. Play allows us to find new and multiple meaning in the abstract. Enjoy.
Monsieur Qui
I just heard about this Parisian Illustrator from cakeface.
I’m extremely impressed by the beauty, complexity and sophistication of this artist’s work. The integration of type with form and models feels extremely organic.
Yulia Brodskaya
Yulia Brodskaya makes typographic illustrations and designs including what she calls Papergraphic illustrations. These are quite interesting and impressive. Have a looksee at these gorgeous examples of her fine work. 
Coudal Partners: Jay Ryan 2003
Jay Ryan is an amazing character. I met him 2 springs ago when our AIGA RIT student group brought him in for a lecture and screenprinting demo. I have two of his posters; I love and cherish them. He is also bass of Dianogah. That’s them playing in the background. Check him out at The Bird Machine
Meeting Andy Gilmore
Back on September 5th, I met Andy Gilmore at a showing of his work with some great music from LouLou and the Sharp Sword. After a long anticipated talk with Andy about his work, I had learned quite a bit. He believes that they are geometric proportions that exist naturally and that we tend to encounter them at some wonderful moments. These proportions occur in all aspects of life. We discussed how this is encountered through skateboarding, music and several other forms. Gilmore works tediously at this, whether it’s through the designs that he does mostly in illustrator, his extremely fine, analytical illustrations, or the music he produces.
